General Ledger & Journal

Full double-entry journal generated automatically from daily activity.

What it does

The full double-entry general ledger, generated automatically as a journal entry behind every order, payment, invoice, bill, and expense in the system.

Why it matters

Real bookkeeping means every transaction has a matching debit and credit somewhere — the Journal is where you can see and verify that directly, not take it on faith.

How to use it

  1. Open the General Ledger & Journal from Bookkeeping.
  2. Browse entries by date, or open a specific order/invoice/bill to see its exact journal posting.
  3. Cross-check any entry against the Trial Balance to confirm it nets to zero.

Main buttons and actions

  • View entry detail
  • Filter by date/account

Example workflow

  1. Every write action elsewhere in the app (recording an order, payment, expense, etc.) posts a journal entry automatically.
  2. Voiding or deleting that source record posts a matching reversal — nothing is ever silently edited out of the ledger.
