Chart of Accounts

A structured account list every transaction posts against.

What it does

The structured list of accounts (assets, liabilities, equity, income, expense) that every transaction in the system posts against — the foundation of real double-entry bookkeeping.

Why it matters

Every other financial statement — P&L, Balance Sheet, Trial Balance — is only as reliable as the account structure underneath it.

How to use it

  1. Open Chart of Accounts from Bookkeeping.
  2. Review the default account list set up during Business Setup, or add accounts as your business needs grow.
  3. Follow the links from here into Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, or the Ledger for any account.

Main buttons and actions

  • + Add Account
  • Edit account
  • View account ledger

Example workflow

  1. Accounts are established once (typically during Business Setup).
  2. Every order, payment, bill, and expense posts against the right account automatically — no manual journal entry needed for routine activity.
